This is enjoyable Anime Hopefully we will get season 2

The Author's 3 Novel got Anime Adaptation
[2019] Didn't I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life?!
[2023] Saving 80,000 Gold in Another World for my Retirement
[2023 Upcoming] Potion-danomi de Ikinobimasu!

Leo Aestron • 1 year ago

According to the manga version, there was supposed to be 2 more dragons with that 1 dragon, his little brother and sister.
He was also sad after this event because Mitsuha killed his only siblings XD
Yeah, they also removed the flashback of the dragon's childhood.

So, actually this is a repeat of history.
Before doing this, there was already this 1 very old elder dragon always warn and scold them when they are young about "Don't mess with human". That elder dragon was traumatized by human in his past XDD
And yes, history repeat itself, now it is this dragon turn to say the same things to younger dragons hahaha

Paradise SLU • 1 year ago

They took it out it seems.

ORFJackal • 1 year ago

Probably ran out of time. Instead, they decided to insert the caravan rescue (which was not in the manga) into episodes 10-11.

Bigger issue is that they censored the anime and didn't kill a ton of soldiers and monsters.

Paradise SLU • 1 year ago

Was it more gruesome in the manga ORFJackal?

ORFJackal • 1 year ago

They shoot to kill. See chapter 32 onwards. Depends on what you consider gruesome. In "Potion-danomi de Ikinobimasu!" (from the same author) the MC does even war crimes.

Paradise SLU • 1 year ago

Wow sounds awesome ORFJackal it would have been great if they put it in the anime.

yeah this ep was so underwhelming for me

blacksparkss21 • 7 months ago

yea i would have loved to see that, because that`s how usually war goes tho.

BassCossack1 • 1 year ago

that, and also they tend toas muh as possible try to take out as many gory scenes when manga or novels get animated because of the target audience and timeslot.

Autumn • 1 year ago

I remember feeling a bit sad for the dragon and how he lost the siblings he longed for and even explained that dragons don't have a high birth rate.

JDC • 1 year ago

yeah literally the dragon thats not this black dragon was blown the fk up into bits with a mega rocket launcher. Which gave emotional and psychological trauma to the black dragon which is technically a kid thinking humans are toys.

Oviej • 1 year ago

... and here I was hoping that said dragon encounters Mitsuha again, but timid and scared and then eventually becoming her lackey for some plot armor apparent reason. For example, the Fenrir anime that became protag's familiar because he can cook since his otherworldly power is the online convenient store hack. (That anime and this anime needs to do a collab.)

Kelvin Goh • 1 year ago

But if we compare with it, this female MC would have received more good compliments than the male MC, because he's a wimp that he couldn't defend himself and only cower behind Fenrir's blanket(barrier). But here, our female Isekai adventure was able to planned independent and resourceful, and she's not a coward.

Oviej • 1 year ago

I feel like it doesn't matter what their personalities are like. It could still be a cool collab regardless. Mukhoda can showcase his cooking to Mitsuha, and Mitsuha and Mukhoda both have the ability to acquire rations from their previous world. My only concern is that Mitsuha has the powers to freely travel between Isekai and I understand that Mukhoda has been summoned there against his free will, so if the two happened to meet, it could cause controversy within Mukhoda to return to his home world in Japan w/ the help of Mitsuha.

Nope, she is like a villain, I rather him not meet her.

ORFJackal • 1 year ago

This MC is refreshingly resourceful. Nearly as resourceful as the realist hero. Beats most isekai MCs.

she's a mary sue lel

ORFJackal • 1 year ago

As the joke goes: “What do you call a male Mary Sue? … A protagonist.”

Oviej • 1 year ago

Opposites attract ...

Ian Nava H • 1 year ago

That would be a fun collab

Napalnman1231 • 1 year ago

Looks like I am not the only one here who noticed that.

Most of the chapters in the EP 11~12 were skipped, some events as well, also in the manga Mitsuha didn't get Collete into her land, like... long after the Dragon's attack.

Ian Nava H • 1 year ago

Wiat what? so what happened in between those events?

Ian Nava H • 1 year ago

What manga chapter was that one?
So i can jump from anime to manga

hmm... i would recommend you to read the novel from beginning instead but if you want to read manga it's your choice but try the novel at least once i guaranty you that you would enjoy it a lot

Jullian J. Weskier • 1 year ago

Good. The studio knows not to fuck with backstories of single episode characters.

Ohms Nuttachai • 1 year ago

This is my favorite among the three. I hope it will get another season.

Chelsyn • 1 year ago

yeah average myne felt too repetitive, potion-danomi has a lot of similiarity with this tho

Usami Mizuki • 1 year ago

so the MC name is Myne, Suddenly remember Myne from Ascendance of Bookworm.

Mabey • 1 year ago

Ascendance of bookwork could be slow at times but it was one of the more unique isekais I watched with good world building and no logic or power jumps

Trương Long • 1 year ago

actually, her original name is Adele in isekai (Misato in Jp) and her alias is Mile not Myne.

Usami Mizuki • 1 year ago

I know Mile from Average Abilites, this Myne we are talking about is the MC from "I Shall Survive Using Potions!"

Trương Long • 1 year ago

Um... The MC of Potions is Kaoru Nagase, her name remains the same in isekai world too

Also, the person you replied to was mentioned about Mile from Average Ability, thus the "Average myne" as they might remember the incorrect name of Mile to Myne.

MeguminExplosion • 1 year ago

Myne from Shield Hero is 👩‍🍳👌💋

Eldershield • 1 month ago

i hope the average girl one gets a second season soon, even tho potion girl is my favorite her anime and mitsuha ending are put well to the point it feels completed without a second season, while average girl left so many lore drops that it needs a s2

the third one Potion-danomi de Ikinobimasu! have you read the manga of it and do you think it would be interesting because i just did some research and it looks like it has potential

ORFJackal • 1 year ago

Potion looks promising. I just now started reading it. The MC gives similar strong vibes as 8万. 👍

Trương Long • 1 year ago

The story is good, but the mangaka kinda ruined it. Comparing to the potion, the average and saving 8xx gold have better art manga.

~YajLa~ • 1 year ago

I actually like that 2019 anime.. and also like this one also... so I'm expecting to have fun on the Author's upcoming 2023 anime...

komo cakeps • 1 year ago

you're telling me that Mile and Mitsuha is from the same author?

now I'm having existential crisis. Mile was totally best girl but Mitsuha just lies as she breathes.

sorry but if I had to choose between this or Mile, I'd want the author the continue with Mile by, well, a mile. Mitsuha is just an inch but Mile is best girl.

Adam heyman • 1 year ago

Mile was an adorable airhead. But I liked Marachella better.

Krenz-Gun • 1 year ago

Yep. These all 3 series has also manga ver.

Fülöp Zoltán Atilla • 1 year ago

It said Fin at the end of the episode, so doubtful they will make a 2nd season.

Akhaten • 1 year ago

oh it makes total sense it's related to Didn't I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life?!

ChosenOneX • 1 year ago

Well, the dragon ran away (poor guy), and Mitsuha is now a viscountess. I’m glad that Mitsuha got to see Colette again – and her hug is as strong as ever. Mitsuha even decided to take Colette into her territory. I’m not disappointed with the ending.

The capitalist girl gets into an isekai - the anime. Of course, it’s done in a wholesome way, but Mitsuha’s thirst for money is there. And who can blame her? Who wouldn’t want to get easy money by selling stuff from Earth in the isekai for much more? The only problem I have is that Mitsuha didn’t even try to, for example, put shampoo into different containers – like Mukohda did in Campfire Cooking.

The story itself was OK – nothing special, but it was nice. It follows the story of a young girl, Mitsuha, who was isekaid. The catch is, she can return to Earth, and thus she decides to earn money by selling stuff from Earth in the isekai. Over time she gets acquainted with nobles, and with the royal family as well. She opens a shop in the capital, resolves some typical “shop problems”, helps some people, and brings some otherworldly things to the isekai.
The ending introduced some discount Gate plot, which wasn’t on Gate’s level, but it was OK (if I forget about Mitsuha’s speech – that I didn’t like).

Overall, this was a nice, relaxing, and enjoyable anime. The characters weren’t bad either. So yeah, I liked it, and I can rate it 7/10.

vovan1 • 1 year ago

7/10, cause of last 3 episodes.
The gate references all over again. And i liked dragon eating RPG again.

Trương Long • 1 year ago

Yeah, Gate army references is kinda boring nowadays, but at the time this chapter of the novel published. It's really hype and awesome to read. xD

Ian Nava H • 1 year ago

Agreed. it was a relaxing anime

NuclearBernz • 1 year ago

So in discussions with others that I've had or seen, they think that Mitsuha completely ripped off the Nobles with her sob story and self stated goal of paying the soldiers 40,000 gold coins. That said, the math actually works out as to why this is a reasonable price for the services of a PMC (private military company). The Math is as follows.

For a rough measurement, I'll use the size and weight of the $50 Commemorative American Eagle Gold Coin, based around 1oz in weight given that previous gold bullion throughout European history (which I believe is the inspiration of the fantasy setting we see) has attempted to be around 1 troy ounce as well (not always exact, but pretty close for estimation). That said, this is almost never in pure gold, if for no other reason than to give it durability as a currency, with both the American Gold Eagle and many European Gold coins both past and present instead using 22 kt gold, meaning that it is roughtly 91.7% pure gold.

At today's market rate, that 22kt worth of gold is a little over $1900 USD per coin! (Note, the fact that its called a $50 American Eagle is just its issued denomination, and does not denote its actual metallurgical or resale value). Thus, at $1900 per coin at 40,000 coins, that would come out to around $76,000,000 USD. That seems high, but remember exactly what they were and what they did. There were clearly at least a hundred well trained soldiers, outfitted with modern military gear, equipment, and vehicles, and thrown into a warzone. Between ammunition, fuel, maintenance costs, and other equipment related expenses, even that short engagement most likely cost millions (especially their "God" machine gun. It most likely used .50 caliber rounds, and historical rounds for .50 cal guns like that can be immensely expensive, think anywhere between $30 - $100 dollars a round on its own (i.e. every belt costing around $50,000)). The rockets for an RPG Launcher anywhere between $800 - $2500. The .556 ammo most likely used in their automatics rifles, anywhere between $40-150 per loaded magazine, of which against 20000 enemy soldiers they clearly used more than 1. Body armor ranging $500 - $2000 per soldier. Self hosted telecommunications equipment without existing relays that a PMC would use, easily $100,000 - $500,000 (they would not use regular radio, but encrypted military communications hardware). Price of the weapons themselves would probably be a few million, with a good ten million more for the vehicles, but we can leave those out as belonging to the PMC. And all of this money is before you talk about salary. PMC usually pay their individual contractors per job, on top of a smaller base pay, which for small scale operations is still, to my knowledge, never less than around what they would make from their base pay in about two months, regardless if it is only for a few days work (PMC's often are hired to protect sensitive shipments, which often is a shorter assignment, as well as other shorter mundane tasks unlike in the movies). Thus, at the average rate of a PMC contractor in South America (base is around $32,000 USD a year when converted from the brazillian real), as well as additional hazard pay for being in an active warzone, that would add up to another $2-4 million in personnel costs alone. Thus, with all these costs added up, the effective cost of this rollout would most likely have reached around $12-15 million USD.

That said, that's just the functional costs to the PMC itself. On top of that, you would have to add consulting and organization of this particular operation, and the cost of having a PMC actually spend their time and resources planning out any particular operation including its logistics is a whole other cost unto itself, and is in fact generally the MAIN cost of hiring a PMC, especially since in many situations like this, where they are hired to go into an active conflict zone, the government behind them usually supplies the greater portion of the equipment directly, especially heavy duty equipment like vehicles. Generally, in contract, one would have to pay such an organization millions, if not tens of millions up front before they would normally even consider taking on that duty and presenting a plan of action.

And then finally, the actual price of the service rendered, (i.e. the profit), which the PMC receives a guaranteed portion of before enacting any operation, and then receives the rest, or a percentage of the rest depending on the outcome of the operation they were hired for. In this case, they were successful, and so one would expect full payment. This is usually in the range of 50-65% of the total cost, or in other words, around 100-135% of the cost of the functional cost + logistics on its own.

For facing down 20,000 soldiers, a cost of hiring a PMC could be expected to be around $40-50 million easy, if not more. Now of course, that is lower than the $76 million that I quoted as the price of the gold value, but frankly is not that far off. Especially since the price of gold fluctuates and that in an exchange of that size, you can expect to lose anywhere from 1-3% of the golds value turning it into tendered currency (i.e. what you could actually put in the bank / pay for expenses with), than $76 million is not that far from market rate. Add the fact that they had to deal with an unforeseen hazard (i.e. a LITERAL DRAGON), and that to me seems perfectly reasonable. Military stuff is BIG MONEY.

On another subject though, with this math, if it holds, then Mitsuha is incredibly wrong with her math in terms of the how much she needs to save for retirement. Based on the title of the show, she is aiming to save 80,000 gold coins, twice that which she paid the PMC, or in other words $76,000,000 * 2 = $152,000,000 USD, WAY MORE than one would normally need for stable retirement, though maybe she just wants to be filthy rich. If so, that's her prerogative...

Please Note, this was purely done for my entertainment, and while I believe it to be relatively factual, I do not warrant or assure accuracy of this information. Use it as you will at your own peril.

ALSO: This is the longest post I've ever done on gogo at least 3x over

Josh • 1 year ago

I'm not going to argue the relative value of the gold that the PMC recieved. That said, I think your application of that same value to her retirement fund is off base.

Even in our own world the value of currency is different depending on where you are. I say value, though I suppose buying power would be more accurite. $1 USD can buy me more in Alabama than in New York, and more in Mexico than eith of those places.

Likewise I would say that the value of 1 gold coin does not have the same buying power on world A as it does on world B. It has even been demonstrated in the show, that is why she can make a huge profit buying world A products and selling in world B. Yes, nearly anyone could hapily retire with quite a bit less than $76,000,000 USD on earth, but that it may take a LOT more to retire happily int he new world.

What is bothering me is that there is no concern given to the economies of the two worlds as she is literally removing currency from one world world and depositing it in the other.

The value of gold is supply and demand, as she increases the ammount of gold in circulation on world A she is causing it's value to decrease. Since most currencies in world A are no longer gold backed it shouldn't affect the economy much, but it will affect the value of the commodity.

Likewise as she reduces the ammount of gold in circulation on world B she is causing havoc on its economic system. I will assume that the economic system isn't advance enough for inflation to be much of a concern. Here the value of gold is probably pretty stable since it is traded as actual currency, but there is only so much to go around. She is literally decreasing the ammount of money in the world. Also empty the kings coffers, the treasury has to be replinished from somewhere.

EDIT: I felt that your long post disserved a long response.
